Not EcoBoost.

Rotary.

GReddy VI (6), built on the AZ1 chassis, with a mid-engined turbocharged wankel rotary.

I've seen it, but i don't know why i want an EcoBoost.

Plus i already had a Rotary Saloon project at my home, so i'll finish it first.

That is cool. Nothing wrong with EcoBoost, really... I just like the GReddy VI, and any excuse to post it.

And I really wish there were a rotary powered mid-engined car on the market, even with SkyActiv, or perhaps even a mild hybrid system to keep the rotary from having to slog around too much at low RPM and high load, and to avoid flooding with engine re-starts, and such.... off-load that duty to an electric drive motor, but then keep the performance of the rotary engine directly driving at speed.

I know, i love it as well!

Well, there's however a rear-engined rotary hybrid like that, called Mazda 2 Range Extender.

It's a one-rotor rotary coupled with electric motor, good for 110hp or so if i remember, and 250km driving range.

*In japan Hybrid is limited to 250km by putting a very small gas tank. Mazda say if the car equipped with normal Mazda 2 tank it'll do 800km or so.

So, instant low-end torque, nice sounding rotary, in a car that handles like Ford Fiesta. Hell yeah.

Why japan always get the cool things?

The smallest engine I could find on Ford's web site is the 2.0L

Be patient, it took a few years for these to be available online. For a while they were selling cars with the 2.0 faster than they could make them. The same thing's happening with the Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost. Once production catches up with demand I'd imagine we'll see the 1.0 in crate form.
